Today's painting is of the Gatepost at the entrance of Island Home Park in south Knoxville. The gateposts, one on each side of the street, were constructed around 1899 after the Island Home Park Company acquired the property located outside the gardens of Perez Dickinson's house. Island Home Park contains some of the best examples of Bungalow and Craftsman architecture in Knoxville.
