Today's paintings is from Jackson Ave, just outside my studio downtown looking towards the old city. The ramp was built in 1919 and its surface is brick, which makes a distinctive sound when tires roll over it. The ramp is scheduled to be replaced soon and I will miss that feature. This is my first pastel I've posted up to the postcard series, even though most of my known work is pastel, (pastel is a dry medium and can be smudged) this is why its framed behind glass. The piece comes framed within a 11" x 14" black frame with a white mat and glass.
